Are you packing your day full? Lee Godbold with JRA talks you through a typical day for him in this video and talks about dreams and ambitions.

Good evening guys. I hope everybody is doing well. This right here is rudder. It’s our dog, an Australian Shepherd. It’s about a 10:00 o’clock. Tuesday night, one of the things I always do. I just got finished uploading a video. I’m working on uploading video, Junk Removal Made Simple episode that was recorded today. Right now, I’m reading the Crushing It! book by Gary Vaynerchuk. Every night I take 30 minutes to an hour worked through a book. I try and read about a book. Finished a book about every week and a half. So, I read somewhere around 40 books a year. It could be self-improvement stuff. It could be stuff on landfills, how to construct a landfill. I’m pretty boring stuff, but it’s the stuff that applies to what we’re doing now. Management, anything I’m curious about. I’m always worried about. We don’t want to kind of show everybody. It was kind of talking about what my typical daily routine. We got computer back there.

Daily Routine

Working on uploading a Junk Removal Made Simple episode. It’s amazing how long those videos take. Typically, get up sometime around about 7:00 o’clock in the morning, probably 7:30am. Coming down here, we got a little gym set up in a spare room. We’ve got a whole lot on the walls and everything. This squat rack, we got some free weights. Treadmill and everything over here and then course the squat rack and everything. Also, pairs as a bench. Every morning gets in here for about half an hour. I’m not one of those guys who’s spending 2 to 3 hours a day at the gym. I got more stuff to do than that. It’s my wife’s volleyball Jersey when she played at NC State. Right here. I will go ahead and some more stuff in here. Some motivational pictures, posters that is all about accomplishing goals and dreams. That’s typically the first thing I do in the morning. Then I will take shower and get ready. Do all that good stuff for the day ahead. My wife and I will then go off and get something to eat. Generally, I get into the office sometime about 9:30 in the morning. Somewhere right in there. At work generally, I’d take a late lunch unless I’ve got a couple of days a week. I’ll have lunch meetings and at that point I’ll do a lunch at 12:30 or 1:00, but a lot of times I don’t grab lunch til’ about 3. Grab a quick bite to eat, about 3:00 o’clock. Head back to the office, do some more work. Working in Charlotte. Traveling, where I’m going typically from town. Head back to the office and do some work. A lot of my day was spent on the computer.

Working On The Junk Removal Business

We got 30 people that are either using JRA services and interested in our services right now. Most of my day is consumed on collaborating with them. We’re doing a brand-new Junk Removal Authority site. We just finished this new one. We got a new one working on and that’s one of the biggest projects. Touching on right now. We got Aaron starts on June 1st, our content marketing creator. He’ll be going full-time at that and we’re pairing them merrily right now up until June 1st. He’ll be in tomorrow and we’re just perfecting our operations manuals. There’s a few things that we’re ironing now because we got a couple of people that are buying business packages that we got to get those manuals sent off too. That’s the main things we’re working on now.

We’ve got a lot of their services on JRA. We’re going to start working on and improve. I guess some Junk Doctors business that comes up in between there. Some bookkeeping stuff that I might do. Occasionally, we’ll have questions about something. Some logistical stuff if we have truck maintenance issues. I’m pretty good at logistics, so I still kind of get involved in some of those decisions. Most of Junk Doctors’ stuff is running almost complete without me. 80% of my time is focused on Junk Removal Authority A lot of my days are phone calls, talking to different junk removal business owners and business partners and everything in the state. As well as throughout the country. Generally, in the evenings, I’ll head off from the office sometime around 6:30 or 7:00 o’clock. Get to the house.

Day To Day Activities

We’ll do a little bit of work at the house. In my computer I will do a little bit of work at the house, record a video and something like that. Play with my dog just a bit. Grab dinner, hang out with my wife for about an hour and a half. Generally, from about 8:00 o’clock to get dinner. Hanging out by 8:00 to 10:00, about 2 hours and then I come back down. Then I’ll go outside and play my dog one more time. I got a neighbor that comes down here, real successful guy. We always kind of bounce ideas back and forth. We are letting our dogs run around. I live on airport. It’s grass airstrip, not a whole lot of activity at night. So, we can go out there and kind of walk up down the runway. Plenty of area for them to run around.

Then I get back in and do a little bit more work in the computer. Pick up a book and read for a little while. I normally only work and read up until about 1:30 in the morning. About 1:30,  I head up and get sleep. Time to get ready and I’ll get to sleep around 1:45. I’m busy, my day is busy all the way. There’s no downtime and there’s no naps. My reading downtime, but I’m focused on reading. My day goes from 7:30 in the morning until 1:30 in the evening. Is that constantly working there? No, there’s times I’ll do another thing at work. I can guarantee that I’m almost always thinking about work. It’s something I really have to concentrate on. You probably do too, when you’re hanging with your family. When you’re hanging with your wife or whoever like that. You need to do your best to make sure that you’re focused on them and not work.

Balancing A Life With Business

That can be very difficult. My businesses consumed my life. I have to make a conscientious effort to make sure that my wife receives the attention that she deserves. She’s got some neat going on to now. She’s actually starting to volleyball vlog. We’ve got a little bit of like 200 subscribers on the YouTube channel and there’s 400,000 youth volleyball girls that play volleyball. So, under the age of 18 there’s 400,000 people the US. I told her, “You have 200 subscribers in a week.” You blow away this number. A lot more volleyball players than junk removal entrepreneurs. Anyway, that’s going to be something that I’m really interested and excited. Look forward to working her own.

That’s kind of my typical day. It’s almost Monday through Sunday. Like I said 7 days a week. Sundays and Saturdays, I normally won’t stay into the office until 7. I’ll come home around 2:00 o’clock on Saturdays. I’m going to work quite as much on Saturdays. We’ve got a lot more family time in there. Different things that we do on Saturdays, but I’m still generally working. I’m just doing the actual work for 8 hours a day on Saturdays and Sundays. My wife works a lot on Sundays for their volleyball lessons. That’s almost a full day. I generally worked at the office till 3 or 4 on Sundays. Then I come home and might go flying in the Sunday afternoon. Do some fun flying.

Most my flying is fun. I enjoy doing it, but it’s work-related. It’s going to Charlotte or visiting people for JRA in the area of Nashville of New York, Pittsburgh and Tampa, those area and places that we’ve been in my plane. Visiting JRA customers and potential customers. Sundays, I get a good friend.

He’s 88 years old and got a Super Cub. He likes having somebody who could fly with him. His reflexes have slowed down and all. We’ll generally go flying. There’s a place, a little place about a 20-minute flight away. You can get lunch and dinner. We might fly there and get dinner or something on Sunday. Seven days a week, I hit this seven days a week. I love what I’m doing. If you love what you’re doing, you are going to do it all the time. If you do it all the time, you’re going to get good at.

Chasing Goals, Chasing Success

You can get successful. Not where I want to be yet. I got to get a lot farther. I want a jet. The only way I’m going to get a jet is if I go out there and help just huge number of people. I mean there’s not enough junk removal people out there to help. We got some other stuff that we’re going to work on as well to really blow this thing up. You might not be that ambitious, that’s fine. You got to set your goal and ambition and work towards that goal and ambition. If that makes you satisfied, that’s great. I got really high ambitions. I don’t expect everybody have ambitions as high as I do. I’m not saying that’s right either. It’s all I know and it is what I want.

That’s what I go after. It’s not necessarily correct. You need to achieve the level of success that makes you happy. I would always say be striving and to be more productive because my mindset is when I’m lazy and I’m not getting stuff done. That’s when I’m the least happy. I’m happy when I’m productive. I’m happy when I’m busy. Every so often I’ll screw up and I’ll sit around. I have a to-do list and I just won’t get started on it and I’m guilty of it. Maybe twice a year and it gets to be 3:00 or 4:00. I hadn’t done anything and I’m miserable. So, it’s just a matter of just getting started, getting going, working towards dream, achieving dreams and ambitions.

Optimism Is The Key

That’s what I try and do every day. I try to stay real positive. Everything I do, I have negative thoughts that creep in. I try to crush them. I got stressed, got plenty of stress that comes. We get debt, we definitely got debt on some equipment. We expected bills that come up like everybody. The numbers are pretty big, which is good. You want big numbers, you want big problems. Anyway, that’s kind of my mindset. My typical day, what we’re after. I’ll tell you long-term, huge ambitions and getting a jet. Long-term, what I want to do is everybody that I help achieve business success similar or greater than what I’ve achieved with Junk Doctors. What myself and Christian have achieved with Junk Doctors. Every single time I help one of those people. I want to give those people an opportunity after we’ve helped a bunch. After we’re making more money where we can go in and all of us compare together. We can just buy these gigantic real estate deals. Multifamily properties, apartments that are b class. Maybe C class, but generally B or C plus anyway. Might do some improvements on. Get their own cashflow, kind of right from the beginning within the first year.

They’re going to be cash flowing. Keep them for 5 to 10 years, however it takes long to double or triple the money. They’re making money every single year on them. We all get rich. Everybody starts out in junk removal. Makes good money. Makes money that they can invest. We all blow them out into a couple of these huge deals. $10,000,000, $20,000,000, $30,000,000 or $40,000,000 apartment complex, you’re going to put 30% down payment on those deals. You’ve got to put $10,000,000 down on a $30,000,000 deal. We got a lot of work to do to get to that real estate. There’s Donald Trump said there’s no source of wealth has been greater than real estate. Real estate is excellent. The right type of real estate. You don’t want small deals. You have to self-manage them and they’ll drive you crazy. You want massive deals that you can hire on-site property managers. You get economies of scale. The loans are actually easier to get. It’s easier to get a loan on a $30,000,000 deal than a $300,000 deal. Believe it or not.  We’re gathering research now, a lot of research in junk removal companies. We’re a researching real estate like crazy. Going in and visiting properties. We’re not ready to buy. We’ll be ready to buy after a few years. We’ll walk in properties. We’re calling brokers and deals. We’re running numbers for trying to really understand the real estate game. When we are ready then we’re going to blow it out. Christian, one of the biggest things he’s going to do once we get successful is that real estate. My focus is going to stay on just making JRA and Junk Doctors.

Just absolutely productive as possible in focusing on real estate. That’s where my thoughts are with this evening. This book right here, I’m about a third of the way through. It was Crushing It! by Gary Vaynerchuk. It’s a good book. Vaynerchuk, if you haven’t followed Vaynerchuk I suggest you do. I didn’t really like the guy at first. I didn’t like his voice much. I always thought he kind of embellish how much he worked on everything, but I think he actually does work that much now. I encourage you to follow Gary Vaynerchuk. He’s a neat guy. I think if you find my stuff inspirational, I think you’ll definitely find his stuff inspirational too. That’s the level of content, marketing and creating that we’re going to go to. That level of production.

It’s going to take us a little time. We’re not going to get that right off June 1st, but we’re going to be putting out some great content. Some great informative content. Some entertaining stuff and a lot more than we are now on all different social media platforms. Looking forward to bringing that to everybody. If you got any questions for me, email [email protected]. Like this video if you like what you heard. I’ll try to make everybody understand.
