It was just one day, Thanksgiving Day from our AdWords campaign two years ago. The reason I want to bring this up and post a video about it is for those of you that are already running google ads and you’re not running a JRA managed campaign. The day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas will likely be your two most expensive days of the year. It’s probably going to lead to a very little business. If you’re looking on your search term report on Google AdWords and on your pay-per-click campaign. You’re seeing stuff like bulky item pickup, garbage collection, trash collection, schedule, and holiday trash pickup. If you’re seeing anything related to those items, you’re going to get absolutely lucky on thanksgiving.
This was two years ago. Remember, we set our campaigns. We have a very high budget. It’s impossible for us to really hit a daily budget. We used to get burned on Thanksgiving and Christmas because of we spent $1,200 in one day two years ago. The day after thanksgiving. The very little of it, maybe $200 for the spend was junk removal related. We got annihilated from a trash schedule, garbage collection, bulky waste pickup and donation pickup. That may or may not be a job. It’s probably not. You generally want to target on AdWords. Trash pickup schedule, Charlotte, NC. We talked about a schedule already. I’m looking through this year.
Goodwill junk pick up, Mecklenburg county trash pickup, Charlotte junk yard and Junk Underjeans. We paid $11.40 for it. These are all some of the search terms that people are paying for on a regular basis. It’s almost impossible to eliminate them. It’s very difficult. It took us years before we were able to eliminate this. Look how many pages are here. Probably eight pages, eight pages of search terms wasted. If you’re running the AdWords, you’re not doing it with JRA. You are getting searched terms about garbage collection schedule and stuff like that. You need to do one of two things. One, you might want to cut your campaign off completely for the day after Thanksgiving and the day after Christmas. Number two, is you set a low budget. That way you don’t get annihilated like we two years ago the day after thanksgiving. The third and the best option is you give us a call at 919-617-1975.
